Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh injury update on Bukayo Saka ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners are currently on 17 points after seven games into the top-flight season, just one behind leaders Manchester City.
They host the Cityzens at the Emirates this weekend and ahead of the game, Arteta has refused to rule out Saka’s availability.
Arteta said: “He is in contention, we’ll see how he progresses from here to Sunday. Obviously he had to leave the pitch [against RC Lens], that’s never good news, but let’s see how he recovers.”
Saka has been in sublime form for the Gunners this term. He has registered five goals and five assists from 10 appearances.
Arteta will be hoping that Saka is available on Sunday, considering the club already face a huge challenge against Man City.
They have lost each of the previous 12 league games against them. This is currently one of the worst records in the division.
