Manchester United are weighing up a fresh approach for Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo with the possibility of Raphael Varane leaving the club in January.
Varane has lost his starting spot under manager Erik ten Hag in recent weeks. The Dutchman has picked Harry Maguire over him in the right centre-back role and is not confident of playing him at left centre-back.
As a result, there is big speculation that he could leave in the January transfer window. Bayern Munich have already expressed an interest in signing him. United are open to parting ways for around €20-30 million.
Amidst this, it is claimed that United are planning to revive their pursuit of Todibo. They were interested in signing him last summer, but could not afford him due to their Financial Fair Play situation.
The scenario could be different in the New Year. United could recoup part of the funds from Varane’s sale while Sir Jim Ratcliffe is prepared to provide funds after securing a minority stake at United.
