Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has spoken about his future amid the recent speculation linking him with Manchester United.
The Frenchman was on the verge of joining the Red Devils from the Bianconeri last year, but a deal did not materialise due to personal terms.
He has since enjoyed a terrific turnaround with the Bianconeri. The midfielder has registered 20 goal contributions in the last 14 months.
Speaking to Telefoot, he has now spoken about his happiness at the club and added that he made the right decision to extend his stay.
He said: “[Juventus] is a club where I am happy and we are having a very good season. Staying at a team I knew very well, in the season going into the European Championship, seemed the best option.”
Rabiot only signed a one-year extension with the Bianconeri last summer and when asked about his long-term future, he added:
“We’ll see later on about a (contract) renewal, but in any case I am very happy with my situation at the club and in the France squad.”
The midfielder has asked for a significant increase in his current wages, but the Bianconeri are not in a position to do so at the moment.
The club’s stance could change if they were to qualify for the Champions League next term. Rabiot may not want to wait for that long.
